“I look forward to coaching and teaching those who wish to learn! Figure Skating has always been my passion and I am committed to teaching any skater who is keen in learning the fundamentals and skills so that they too can enjoy the art of the sport of skating as much as I have.”
~ Kim Marfleet

Kimberly Marfleet specializes in technical skating specifically for hockey players of all levels. She is located out of the Langley Sportsplex in British Columbia. Kim teaches private lessons, small groups and entire hockey teams. She teaches advanced skating efficiency and proper body alignment. Kimberly’s technique and skating drills are easily transferable into game situations.

Kimberly (Popp) Marfleet began skating at the age of 3 with the North Delta Sungod Skating Club. She became a competitive Figure Skater at 9 years of age. Both Kim and her partner were B.C. Champions for five straight years at the Pre-Novice, Novice and Junior Dance Levels. They achieved Bronze, Silver, and Gold at Western Divisionals and ultimately competed at the Canadian Nationals in Novice and Junior Dance.
In 1988, Kim and her partner won a Silver medal for Novice Dance at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Victoria. They were honored to be invited to an intense National Dance Seminar that included the highest level coaching with the top Dance Coaches in Canada. Later that year, they were chosen to represent Canada at the Junior World Championships in Sarajevo; however, unfortunately Kim’s partner fractured his ankle just days before they were scheduled to leave. After competing at the Junior Level at Nationals, Kim turned Professional and began her coaching career, where she has been coaching since 2004.

Kim has achieved her Gold Dances, Variation and Senior Free Daance, Junior Silver Free Skate and her Fourth Figure Test.

Kim is a Technical Skating Specialist. She teaches her students how to be powerful, quick and efficient skaters by teaching deep edges and long powerful strides. Kim Marfleet has taught Power Skating to House and Rep Hockey players from Hockey 1 to Junior AAA players. She has taught many successful students, who are top Rep players at Semihamoo Minor, Cloverdale Minor, North Delta Minor, North Surrey Minor, and Langley Minor Hockey Associations, including Burnaby Winter Club and North Shore Winter Club; along with students who are now very successful in Figure Skating.
