The Warriors Development Program began in
November 2002. This Program is designed to further the development
of the elite roller hockey player. The Program runs each
week for 1-hour for kids born in 1992-2000. Complete details
on this Program can be found below:
1) Why are we running these sessions?
To further the development of the players that wish to raise
their skill level and who would like to play more than once
per week.
2) What's involved in this Program?
Most importantly, these sessions are designed for the player
who a) wants to develop his/her skills and b) wants to play
roller hockey more than once per week. The players will
be put through numerous drills working on various skills
needed to play this exciting game. The sessions are designed
to be fun, yet challenging for the players. Drills will
range from beginner to intermediate to advanced.
3) Why do players want to develop their
skills?
a. Get added enjoyment from this great game.
b. Rep teams: Each spring/summer the Roller Hockey Tournaments
heat up. We have been very successful every year forming
teams to participate in these tournaments. To be a successful
Rep Player you MUST spend quality time on the rink 3-4 times
to properly develop your skills and stay ahead of your opponents.
This Program will get you on the rink weekly
in a High Performance setting - up-tempo skating and passing
drills, game situation drills, teamwork, etc.
4) Expect to WORK HARD!
This is not the typical House League situation. We expect
all players to put forth maximum effort with a positive
attitude. We ask you to challenge yourselves to be the best
player you possibly can each drill, each practice! This
type of player will find great satisfaction and significant
improvement in their game. We'll skate you hard, but we'll
be fair with everyone! Our goal is to develop your skills
to their maximum potential. Be On-time! Be Positive!
Be a Team Player!
5) These
are NOT TRYOUTS!
These sessions are designed to improve your roller hockey
skills through advanced coaching and practicing. They are
DEVELOPMENTAL SESSIONS ONLY! Rep Tryouts occur in the Spring
and are open to ALL PLAYERS. These sessions will give you
a big jump on the other players that do not want to put
in the extra effort to be successful at the higher levels.
DON'T
BE LEFT BEHIND!
If you are serious about your game and want
to challenge the top teams/players in BC and North America
then the Warriors Development Program is perfect for you.
We'll help you take your skills to their
highest level and prepare you for the BEST this game can
throw at you. Skating, passing, stickhandling, game concepts,
breakouts, powerplays, regroups, shooting - we've got it
all!
